Welcome to NASCRE 2025!
Dear Colleagues and Friends,
It is our great pleasure to welcome you to Houston for the 5th North American Symposium on Chemical Reaction Engineering (NASCRE-5). The conference will be held from the 16th through the 19th of February, 2025, and will feature a diverse range of keynote speeches, technical sessions, and interactive workshops covering various topics in chemical reaction engineering.
The practice of chemical reaction engineering has evolved from its roots in aiding reactor design for chemical production to now being a critical component of applications as disparate as pharmaceutical development and emissions control. Motivated in part by this massive expansion in scope of application, the scientific theme for NASCRE-5 will be 'Breaking Barriers for a Sustainable Future', aiming to emphasize the diversity of approaches and perspectives prevalent within the various sub-disciplines of chemical reaction engineering, especially those with the potential to be highly disruptive in the near future.
We hope that the conference will catalyze diversification not only in the breadth of approaches used to tackle reaction engineering challenges, but also that of the types of systems – chemical, biological, and environmental – analyzed, as well as the future composition of the workforce in our continuously emerging field.
Sincerely,
NASCRE-5 Conference Co-Chairs
